Depends on source: The virus is considered active and contageous in the saliva as long as the kid has fever and probably the day after it stops.The virus is then limited to the stool for about 6 weeks.It is a common childhood pattern illness.These two probably were exposed elsewhere, it doesn't wait 2 wks to develop.
