A member asked:

Can you explain if it's safe to babysit a child with hand foot and mouth disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Most people have this illness in childhood, whether recognised or not, leaving most immune for life. There is more than one strain of virus involved, but most are still infected as kids. If immune, you are not at risk. However, i occasionally see adult family members infected.
