Multiple obsticles: Once a kid has their skin break down around the mouth you sometimes encounter obstacles to healing. Teething kids often drag their spit with its enzymes out over the healing areas & that can slow the healing process. Kids can also get a low grade staph infection in the old viral blisters called "perioral dermatitis". Your physician may need to examine the area & provide meds.
