Pain after RCT: Pain following RCT is not uncommon. We normally prescribe an appropriate pain medication to deal with such circumstances to be used if OTC medication such as Advil, Motrin or Aleve (naproxen) is insufficient. If it's not better by the morning, call your dentist for advice.

Residual Inflammation: Throbbing and continued pain after root canal treatment may be a sign of complications. See your dentist; if there are signs of infection antibiotics and anti-inflammatory will be prescribed.
