why can't someone get jaw surgery until the braces come off?

Dr. Stuart Hickerson

Braces: Your jaw and your teeth have a relationship and your braces do shape your jaw somewhat. So if you had surgery on your jaw it would mess with the forces your orthodontist is using to straighten your teeth
