The best thing for you to do is to see an orthodontist for an evaluation. You will find out what kind of treatment you need and all of the treatment options. You need to be seen to be able to answer your question

Your best bet is to be seen by a local orthodontist who will evaluate not only your tooth position but also the size and relationship of your jaw to your maxilla, as well as your facial profile. Your malocclusion may either be dental or skeletal in nature. If it is determined that surgery is indicated, you will be referred to an oral surgeon. Together they will work as a team.

I wish that "too far" was more descriptive. I assume you man that your malocclusion (bad bite) is severe. Please make an appointment to see a qualified specialist Orthodontist. Most will do a complimentary or low cost Initial Orthodontic Examination and then discuss with you the nature and extent of your problem and your treatment options. It's that simple. Make the call.
