Anesthesia!: Sometimes the dentist needs to anesthetize you deeper so you are comfortable during the necessary procedure. You may feel numb for more than a couple of hours and your mouth will feel deformed but it is only temporary. What you are describing does not seem abnormal and unusual. I recommend you return to your dentist if you still need more work done so you finish your treatment.

Anesthesia: What you are describing is normal. Anesthetic numbs both sensory and motor nerves. Depth of anesthesia is dependent on surgical requirement. Sounds like your Dentist provided competent treatment and that you responded normally. Cudo's to your Dentist.
