Nightguard: If you are using a nightguard because of bruxism ( chronic grinding or clenching your teeth), there is no definitive time frame. Bruxism is a habit that can cause TMJ dysfunction, fractured teeth, and chronic headaches and migraines. Length of wear is dependent on control of the bruxism. This is something you need to discuss with your dentist.

Splint: Needs to be worn. exactly as directed. The number of hours/day and the overall length of time in the appliance can only be determined dined by your Dentist. It will be determined by your parafunctional habits, occlusion, need for oc causal adjustment or Orthodontic treatment, stress levels, medications, and your ability to comply.
