Eustachian tube: Usually pain associated with swallowing involves pressure changes across the ear drum caused when the Eustachian tube allows air into the middle ear.If you can recreate the pain by yawning this should also allow air entry and may stop the pain. If it persists, an exam is needed. This can occur while you are developing a middle ear infection.
