I have been getting pain in the left hand side of neck when swallowing and in my left ear half of the time. is it normal or is it an infection?

Ear pain: Suspicious for Eustachian tube dysfunction and this would be associated with infection or congestion, possibly allergies. Trying a decongestant may help. If symptoms persist or you have a fever get checked.
