If you think bad teeth are the cause of your ear pain will a dentist look into you ear with a otoscope?

Teeth to ear: No the dentist won't look into your ear with an otoscope. However pain in the jaw joint very commonly is felt as ear pain. Your dentist can diagnose TMJD and prescribe correction. Do you clench your teeth? Read about therapy for this at www.grossaninstitute.com

Tooth pain: Dentists do not normally look into a patients ear. Further, they can usually tell if a tooth problem could refer or radiate pain to the ear. Most often, there are two separate issues which is why when we cannot justify a tooth problem as the cause of ear or head pain, we refer the patient to their own physician. Sometimes TMJoint issues may seem to be an ear ache but we can isolate 2 joint instead
