Seek DDS care: Go to the treating dentist for an evaluation. If a suture is still remaining a year later, the dentist will remove it. More important, what is your treatment plan to address your tooth loss.

Return: Return to the Dentist or Oral Surgeon who placed the stitch and ask that it be removed. There will probably not be a charge. Or see a different or Oral Surgeon for stitch removal. Anticipate a modest charge.

Follow-up: Follow-up with your provider. Most providers in your area schedule follow-up care as part of this type of treatment. It's time to make that happen.
