Immediate : Immediate dentures can sometimes be not as esthetic as we want them since there is no chance of teeth trial in waxed stage(your teeth were present). Good news is that these are your temporary dentures and once your extraction sites have healed completely, you have plans to get a new set. When you go for those, before your dentist selects the teeth, you can ask to see sample teeth of different sizes and shapes. Another thing that you should do is at the wax teeth trial appointment (just before the dentures are processed), check it out in a mirror and get the changes that you want. At that step, everything is in wax and can be moved or changed.

The : The other panelists have given you good advice.. These are temporary, by your explanation. They may not look exactly as expected, but they are what your dentist thought would look good for you. When you have the next set made, check the look in the mirror before they are permanently processed. Have them completed only on your approval. And understand that your dentist is really trying his/her best to make you happy. I'm not sure the teeth are suppose to look the way they do, but at the very least try to understand the difficulties of treating your situation.

Second : Second opinions are always a good idea, but at this point you also need to heal completely, a minimum of 3 months. There are still changes happening and corrections today may not look as good as things continue to heal. Immediate dentures sometimes look worse before the look and feel better. Wearing nothing, as you suggest, is an option. The solution is likely a completely different set of dentures, and it sounds as if that is part of the plan.

It's a process: Having teeth pulled is a traumatic life event and wearing dentures immediately takes some getting used to, especially when your mouth is healing--usually it takes six months for things to stabilize--try to be patient with your mouth as it heals and experiences new things.
