Discuss with OB: Sorry for your loss.These are so unexpected & disabling when they happen. You need to have a long discussion with the OB about this process & have a plan . For the gbs to have infected your baby at 31 wks you were likely leaking(rare) or the germ wouldn't have been able to reach the baby. About 1/3 women will carry gbs intermittently & pre-treatment does not prevent it from comming back later.

Not until 35wks: All pregnant women should get tested for GBS, group B streptococcus, at 35wks. It's not an infection; just colonizes the vagina. If it gets onto your baby as it passes through the birth canal, it can lead to sepsis (whole body infection) -- so if you have it and you're going into labor, you HAVE to be at a hospital to get IV antibiotics (PCN). Can't do anything about it before labor. No symptoms.
