Mgt: It can take up to three weeks to recover from a viral illness. If her mom has a nasal swab to screen for respiratory viruses, this will be provide additional information. Other possible causes include pertussis, is there nasal congestion or drainage? If so, infant nasal drops and gentle suction can alleviate post nasal drip. I would suggest an evaluation particularly if there is fever.
