Clariththromycin: may not be the best choice for your current infection. because it is excreted in breastmilk & can cause a baby to have diarrhea, rash & sleepiness. If you took 500 mg. of long-acting Clarithromycin,it would take about 45 hours for your body to eliminate it all, but, as you take subsequent doses, the level of it builds up in your bloodstream. Ask your doctor if there is a safe alternative.
