5 weeks: The minimum of a regular menstrual period after ending a pregnancy is about 5 weeks . Three weeks seems to be the earliest a woman ovulates after ending a pregnancy, plus 2 weeks for the "secretory" phase, the second half of the menstrual cycle. If irregular, anovulatory bleeding (a woman may not ovulate properly ending a pregnancy) occurs for much longer (8 - 10 weeks) it needs to be investigated
