Painful periods: Pain and cramping with periods may be secondary to endometriosis. The "heavier bleeding with bowel movements" is probably b/c of contraction of abdominal muscles, which forces blood in the upper vagina out, and it seems heavier, but that is blood already accumulated. Heavy periods and cramping can be controlled well with low dose oral bcp's...see your physician to discuss.
