Melatonin &Benadryl: You can take both melatonin and benadryl (diphenhydramine) together. They have different mechanisms of actions. However, they will have a synergistic effect (more sedation, drowsiness). Avoid alcohol and driving. Tips to help with sleep. Avoid stimulants (i.e., caffeine). Get plenty of exercise. Avoid late eating. Make sleep environment relaxing (no reading, no tv).
