Return to the doctor: A high fever for over five days requires investigation. If there is no evidence for respiratory infection or strep, one must consider other locations such a urinary tract infection or pneumonia. Depending on symptoms and physical findings your child may need a blood test, urine test, Chest Xray or more in depth testing.
