Remicade (infliximab) infusion: reactions. You may want to discuss with your doctor his/her logic of not giving pre medications for possible infusion reactions. Some doctors wouldn't, so as not to mask initial signs of a more severe reaction that might ensue, at times simple reactions can be dealt with using antihistamines. Another reason for not using steroids with remicade, (infliximab) is not to suppress immunity further. Best wishes
