Many things : Your symptoms are suspicious for gastritis. It is not uncommon to have a "normal" egd even with gastritis or peptic ulcer disease. In case you have not, a trial of a daily PPI for about 30 days should be done. If the pain resolves, that is your answer. If the pain continues, then a search for an alternate source is in order.
