Its not the only: solution,but it is the best one. What is your problem with nexium (esomeprazole)?

Acid reflux: PPI are potent medication, You can also try h2 blockers like zantac, (ranitidine) pecid. If nothing work you may need surgery to prevent th reflux in to the esophagus
