PPI's: Proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole or Nexium (esomeprazole) generally have no side effects when used for only 14 days. If your symptoms recur after a two-week trial, you should see your doctor for tests and/or a longer-term approach to your probable acid reflux. Anti-reflux measures can to help. Good luck.
