Many options for DPN: Keeping your A1C in line will help. FDA indicated Meds for DPN are Lyrica (not gabapentin) Cymbalta, Nucynta (tapentadol) ( an opioid), and Metanx ( a vitamin mix) Also frequently used are Elavil, gabapentin, alpha lipoid acid (herbal). Spinal cord stimulation is very helpful but requires a small implant in the body. See a pain doc in your area to discuss these and other pain options.
