Grinding mostly: Grinding has different causes. It could be stress or it may be due to irregularities in your bite. It can cause TMJ problems as well. You need to be seen by a dentist for an eval. It may be solved by a night guard or you may need orthodontic treatment. You may also need crowns or veneers. Do not wait as it will only get worse.

Grinding: Tooth grinding is most likely the cause of your teeth wearing. Due to the high incidence of tooth grinding in those with sleep apnea, sleep apnea needs to be ruled out. Your fatigue and taking pain meds can be a part of sleep apnea. Talk to your doctor about sleep apnea. Other signs are daytime sleepiness. Snoring, lack of concentration, memory problems and irritability among others.
