A member asked:

Is lpa a significant risk factor for heart disease or is ldl the most important. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Being worked out: Lp(a) if quite elevated is an independent risk factor that seems to be almost entirely hereditary, and may be managed with a different medication regimen. For the vast majority of us, LDL cholesterol is key, and it's always against the background of other risks. Avoid smoking, stay physically fit and trim, and hope for many years of good health.
