A member asked:

How much does sleep affect weight loss? past 2 weeks i've cut way back on calories, especially carbs & scale hasn't budged. also never sleep well.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sleep is important: Research continues to show how important sleep is to overall health, including achieving weight loss. Lack of sleep can increase presence of stress hormones, thus reducing your ability to lose fat despite caloric restrictions. Consider consulting a HealthTap provider for further evaluation. Depending on the sleep issue, there are a number of intervention options available. Be Well.
