IBS: is a "diagnosis of exclusion"...means that some testing needs to be done to rule out inflammatory bowel disease (a "screening blood test is available) some docs want more "semi-invasive" testing ...at any rate try eliminating LACTOSE (milk dairy products) or taking LACTASE tablets...and try a PRO-BIOTIC Yogurt..see if that helps Dr Z
