A member asked:

Dad is on jardiance and it has lowered his blood sugar to almost perfect levels. but doesn't jardiance increase risk of uti? and uti can cause sepsis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See answer: In the pool of five placebo-controlled clinical trials, there was a very small increased incidence of UTIs of <1-1.5% over the incidence seen with placebo when compared with the Jardiance 10 mg and Jardiance 25 mg doses. Something to be aware of but, in my opinion, good control of blood glucose and identification and control of any other risk factors for UTI much more important.
