See your PCP: First of all, make sure you do fingerstick on an empty stomach. Second of all, you may have glucose intolerance. Please see your pmd to determine, may need to have 2 hr glucose tolerance test done.

Monitor: The blood sugar levels can be normal or abnormal depending on when you took them. We usually like 95 or less fasting in the morning. Less than 140 one hour after meals or less than 120 two hours after meals see your fp and they can do a true glucose challenge to determine if you are diabetic and give you more education. Also see your doc for evaluation of possible utis.

Call it what you wan: Doesn't matter what you call it, you're at least at prediabetes and well on your way to real diabetes. You're probably overweight with your positive family history. Going from normal to pre to diabetes isn't like falling off a cliff - it's a slow and gradual transition. Don't wait for a specific diagnosis. Then it's too late. Start diet/exercise maybe medication now. See your doctor.
