Sciatic nerve injury: You mean a bullet injury of the nerve?, can you move the foot, or the leg? if the answer is yes, the nerve was not injured directly, but a pressure wave induced injury. If you cannot move the foot, leg or feel at the same level the bullet injured the nerve with a direct impact. In the first event, the pain will go away, you have an inflammatory response, which may last for a month or two. Be treated by a Dr. and undergo physiotherapy, for the second option you also will need a counselor .
