A member asked:

I know hpv dna can spontaneously revert to normal but if i've tested positive for hpv dna does that mean it will never clear?

No: The immune system is very resilient, and most peoole clear the virus in a few years without any symptoms

Confusing terms: If you had an HPV infection, your immune system will build antibodies to the strain & these will circulate in your system.First they clear the primary infection, but the HPV strains are part of a large group of viruses that can hibernate in your system and return later. You may shed the virus & pass it without knowing. If it is a high risk strain it may triger cancerous changes many years later
