Exam most important: Based on a thorough history of knee complaints, limitations, and history of injury, combined with thorough examination findings by a physician trained in musculoskeletal injury of the knee along with basic knee xrays, a diagnosis can be determined. The nonspecific MRI findings mentioned would be one other piece of information to determine any need for concern or plan of treatment.
