Toenail pain: Four weeks after a partial toenail removal most patients will not be having any pain. Most will not have swelling or redness in the area either. If a patient has a lower immune system (Diabetic, etc), their healing rate will be much longer. Check with the doc who removed the toenail and if your questions aren't answered don't be afraid to get a 2nd opinion! Best wishes!

Inflammation from...: Depending on the technique used, it may still be possible to have some serous discharge. If the nail root was chemically cauterized, the effects of the burn can remain for weeks, especially if not adequately treating the post-operative site. If no chemical was used, then an infection is probable. Get to your surgeon and inquire as to your condition. Do this sooner than later.
