I have an extremely painful toe specially at night. looks swollen nd red however no signs of a fungus or ingrown nail or injuries. please help.

Possible paronychia: You may have an infection of the soft tissue surrounding your nail. This is known as a paronychia.If warm soaks do not help i would see a dermatologist.
