A member asked:

My gynecology sched a hymenectomy for me before this year end.what should i expect from the surgery?do i really need to be sedated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: It is painful to have surgery without sedation. He can numb the area with lidocaine but that may not be adequate in blocking all the pain. It's best to discuss your options with your GYN rather than discussing on this board because he/she can specifically guide you and discuss post op concerns in details. Best Wishes Dr M
