A member asked:

Can i still pee after hymenectomy?or do i need a catheter?some can't pee after the surgery because of swelling.my gyne sched me for surgery this yr.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hymenectomy: Typically a catheter is not needed. The surgery itself often only requires a small incision at several areas of the hymen. At 2, 6 and 10 the hymen would still be intact but very flexible. Each OB may do things differently so you need to find out more about how the procedure will be done.
