Hello, i took a five day course of macrobid for a uti. i feel a lot better, but not 100%. is it wise to go back to the doctor and get tested again?

Yes: If your symptoms didn't resolve, I would see the doctor again. Different antibiotics may be more or less effective against different bacteria. If your symptoms didn't resolve with the first antibiotic you should work with your doctor to find another one. Also, make sure to take the entire course of antibiotics even if your symptoms resolve before the antibiotic is gone.

Macrobid was called in for a suspected UTI due to burning. After taking two doses, I was able to leave a urine sample at my doctors office which came back normal. Should I continue the Macrobid until the full culture comes back or discontinue?

I am allergic to Ceftin, Cipro, Macrobid, Sulfa, penicillin, floxin and Biaxin. My doctor says I have an UTI but she can't prescribe anything because of my allergies. She says drink lots of water. Isn't there some antibiotic I can take?
