Petechiae: If they are flat and asymptomatic, these are possibly petechiae, or small bruises. Ask him if he did anything vigorous like standing on his head or rough-housing with friends, or even straining to go to the bathroom. If they occur in other places on his body then you should definitely check in with his pediatrician.
