Little risk or help: Most pathologists do not believe that most intestinal metaplasia is a cancer risk. If you have helicobacter or reflux, manage it. Pauling's tragic, bizarre claims about vitamin C reflect his own life events and have found basically no support. I would urge you instead to eat sensibly and as naturally as you can and to stay physically fit. Pills aren't the key.
