Yes and more: Excessive eating of sugars and fats are common causes of weight gain and obesity, it does not matter whether it is fat on the belly or all over. Carbs contribute but they are not the only culprits. Excess of fat in your diet(animal fats from meats, dairy products like milk and ice creams) contribute a larger part to this problem.
