Height? Assume 5'6": Congratulations on taking on a project that will teach you a lot about energy balance for life. Goal weight should be about 135 pounds (more if taller). That's 100+ lb wt loss; losing 25+ lbs would be tremendous. Eat about 1500 calories daily focused on veggies, fruits, whole grains, healthy protein and fat. Burn off an extra 300 calories daily. Goal loss: 1to 1.5 lb/wk. Persevere....BE PATIENT!
