I would 1'st keep-: -fingers off,try OTC steroid ointment for relief. If it does not improve in a couple days, C a dermatologist. Other causes can B from intravenous drug injection into than vein, this includes illegal as well as from IV medicine given to you recently, as in a day or two. Scratching may have come1'st & this caused the area over the vein to make it look different.
