A member asked:

I have had a pinched nerve in neck which caused pain in fingers/hands but now just my neck. does this mean it is getting better? my neck is worse now

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: It is possible you are getting better. A 'pinched' nerve may be due to disc herniation or bony spur, and it can 'settle down' after the initial inflammation resulting in resolution of the pain/numbness in the arm/hand. This is ideal, allowing conservative management. If there is ever any associated weakness in the arm, it is important to see neurologist/neurosurgeon as surgery may be needed.
