Depends: It is unfortunate that your partner is not responding to Trazodone. There are many other options that can be explored. This not only includes medication, but counseling as well. However, other medical causes must be ruled out first. Recommend he discuss his symptoms with his doctor. He/she can perform a complete evaluation and testing, and make appropriate referrals depending on findings. Best.

There are: quite a number of other safe, effective meds besides trazodone for mood problems. He may wish to advise his provider of the issues that he is having with his treatment to see if he/she will consider an alternative. Partner may also benefit from therapy in addition to a different medication. Good luck!
