Occipital neuralgia?: It's is possible your pain is due to OCCIPITAL NEURALGIA involving the lesser occipital nerve. The exact cause is uncertain but is hypothesized to be due to injury, compression or inflammation of the 2nd and 3rd cervical nerve roots or entrapment of the lesser occipital nerve by neck and scalp muscles. Compression by the occipital artery may be another cause. SEE YOUR DR FOR A PRECISE DIAGNOSIS.
