The lump in the neck could be one of many things but the most likely is a reactive lymph node that may be because of various infections. You did not indicate how big it is, they quite often would go down by themselves after resolution of infection however it may also be due to cancer and sometime there is a need to biopsy it to find out the cause. The pain may be musculoskeletal and have Dr exam.
