I have a small lump on the left side of neck and kind of behind my left ear. its not an abscess or a pimple. quite firm like a bone. it hurts at times?

Possibly lymph node?: Have lymph nodes throughout our bodies to protect us. Some are near surface of skin and you can feel. If you've had an ear infection recently or possibly scratched your scalp nearby the node could have started to swell as it pumped out lymphocytes. If it doesn't go down in a few weeks go see your doc.
