Radiology hedge.: Renal cysts range from simple to complex. Simple cysts are common and are of no concern whatsoever (Grade 1). Complex cysts have solid regions which are usually an indicator of cancer (Grade 5). By using the word "minimal septation" the radiologist is giving the cyst a Grade 2, which is more likely benign than not. Chances are very good that this is nothing to worry about.
